Posted on 08/12/2009
Promax UK selected Homeless World Cup to participate in this year’s Charity Challenge at their recent industry conference and awards for the UK’s promo industry.
Leading UK broadcast creatives were invited to pitch their ideas for a 30 second TV promo to raise awareness of the Homeless World Cup and the power of football to radically change the lives of homeless people in the run up to the Rio 2010 Homeless World Cup. Copacabana Beach, Rio, Brazil is the setting that will unite 64 national teams of homeless players in mid September next year.
Live pitches were delivered at the conference in November from C4 Creative, Red Bee Media, Sky Sports, Beautiful TV, Disney Channel, Oblong and Addiction and reviewed by a panel that included the Homeless World Cup, Nike, UKTV, and Turner broadcasting. Beautiful TV was later announced as the winners with a dynamic, street art concept, that will also update the Homeless World Cup brand look and feel. The TV promo campaign will be launched in May 2010. The Homeless World Cup is currently seeking media partners to participate in the global campaign.
Brett Davey - Creative Director UK, Turner Broadcasting and PromaxUK 2009 Co-Chair – said: ”The vibrant and energetic brief resulted in some of the finest Creative Pitches the Promax UK Charity Challenge has ever seen and the winning concept from Beautiful TV is very exciting. I’ve no doubt it will help raise awareness of the Homeless World Cup.”
