Sanayee Development Foundation (SDF) is an Afghan NGO that has worked in Education, Peace Building, Civil Society Development and Community Health since 1990. SDF will support the Afghan team at the 2007 Homeless World Cup.
They will participate in the Copenhagen 2007 Homeless World Cup to show solidarity with other homeless people around the world and to teach people about the situation in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has undergone more than two decades of bloody and bitter war. SDF hopes to build relationships with other countries, organizations and individuals for future cooperation and support.
SDF has two football teams: Team A and Team B. The players are mostly poor but active young Afghans. Eight needy and deserving players will participate in the 2007 Homeless World Cup. These players have suffered a great deal and have been away from Afghanistan living in harsh conditions in refugee camps either in Iran or Pakistan.
Shelter is a big problem in Afghanistan and the players all face the serious problem of finding homes.
The two SDF team regularly practice five days a week. They are well motivated and really keen to become good football players in the future. As they have learnt more about the Homeless World Cup their motivation and competitive spirit has increased. They work really hard and really hope to win the tournament.
The players are happy about meeting other people from different countries of the world. They consider this a golden opportunity in their life.
SDF supports these two teams and hopes that the players of these teams will become good players and be on our national team and earn honor and achievements for Afghanistan.
