Ukraine (9) v (3) Netherlands
By Stephanie Rhoden
UKRAINE has continued their dominance in Group A of the secondary stage with a 9-3 victory over the Netherlands, and are pushing to make the final stages of the Homeless World Cup.
The Ukraine constructed their play carefully and methodically as though the game was played on a full pitch rather than four-on-four.
Oleksandr Ganko casually knocked the ball in for the first score of the match before Tony Pires goaled quickly after to put the Dutch on the board.
The Ukraine's passing and sharing of the ball in their half made it difficult for the Dutch to defend, and used their skill to get on top of their orange-wearing opponents.
After Igor converted a penalty in his bright red boots things were looking glum for the team from Netherlands.
But they did their best to get back into the game in the second half, changing their tactics to match the style of the Ukraine, taking their time and scoring twice in a row.
The Ukraine did not give up, and found their fancy footwork once more to regain control of the match and finish comfortable winners.
